The Cyprus Action Network of (CANA) is calling for the defeat of Congressman Steve Cohen (D-TN), who even as a freshman Congressman, worked actively against the Armenian Genocide resolution. In a recent article, he even named his opposition to the resolution as one of his greatest feats as a freshman member!!! He also was instrumental in getting the city of Memphis to honor Turkey during the Memphis in May festival, disgustingly on the day that that the so-called “Ataturk” launched the Pontic Greek or Pontian Genocide, without any mention of Turkey's oppression of minorities – Armenians and Pontians and Assyrians or Cypriots, of course.
There is a vibrant Hellenic-American community, in Congressman Cohen’s voting district, that includes two large Greek Orthodox Christian parishes (Annunciation and St George), CANA activists have been calling all our Cypriot friends urging them to vote for NIKKI TINKER, and to help us defeat Congressman Cohen.
Tinker has pledged to fight for Armenian Genocide recognition and to support Armenia. Friends and supporters of Armenians who play such a strong and integral and supportive role in Cyprus are friends, naturally of the Cyprus cause.
