On 21st October, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan addressed a gala dinner in honour of the heads of delegations attending the 12th Conference of the Information Ministers of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Istanbul.
This was not the first time. There were many other occasions when Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has expressed his concerns about anti-muslim sentiments, especially in Europe. He has tried - repeatedly and unsuccessfully though - to resemble Muslims with Jews before WW2 and has accused European countries as “spots of anti-muslim hatred and islamophobic incidents”.
Quite often he is criticizing Europeans for hypocrisy and support of terrorism (sic!) while, at the same time, he defines Turkey as a “beacon of democracy”… a place of “equality” and “justice”… “the only country of political normality” that promotes security to all, by fighting extremism… any kind of it!
That is why - always according to him - Turkey has rights but no obligations! Well, a super-power (sic!) like Turkey shouldn’t expect anything less that this…
President Erdoğan, finds it amusing to deliver lessons about democracy and human rights while his country reserves no respect for human rights and more than this, it supports questionable persons, groups and organisations across Europe, to deliver political and social instability nonetheless. That is not just a groundless allegation. There are irrefutable facts of Turkey’s interference and scope… facts well documented and verified.
